On the morning of December 8, 2017, the Tri-District regionalization plans were presented to approximately 80 attendees at the University of Maine at Fort Kent's Board of Visitors business breakfast.
Superintendent Lisa Bernier of MSAD33 presented enrollment information, highlighting the declining enrollment over the past 25 years. This was followed by strategic planning information by UMFK's Dean of Community Education, Scott Voisine, who served as the Tri-District strategic plan consultant from August 2016 to July 2017.
Madawaska Superintendent of Schools Gisele Dionne presented information about the Maine Department of Education grant opportunities that have become available for districts engaging in regionalization plans. Finally, MSAD27 Superintendent of Schools presented plans for immediate goals to compete for a comprehensive, integrated, regional CTE High School, that will be fully-funded by the State of Maine, and also to regionalize administrative services, such as Superintendent and Central Office services, Professional Development and Curriculum Coordination, and Adult and Continuing Education services to name a few.
