Celebrating Excellence: Don Chouinard Receives the 2026 Peter Saucier Service Award

Every year, MSAD27 pauses to recognize someone who makes our district not just a place to work, but a community worth belonging to. This year, we are proud to announce that the Peter Saucier Service Award has been presented to Don Chouinard, Dean of Students at Community High School and Valley Rivers Middle School.

About the Award

The Peter Saucier Service Award is one of our district's most meaningful honors. Named in memory of the dedicated Director of Transportation, it is presented annually to an MSAD27 employee at large who exemplifies the qualities of leadership, honor, dedication, and service. What makes this award especially special is how the recipient is chosen: Staff members across the district vote each year for the two colleagues they feel most embody these values. It is, at its heart, a tribute from peers, a recognition that carries the weight of genuine admiration and respect.

Don Chouinard: 34 Years of Showing Up for Students

This year's recipient has been showing up every single day for 34 years.

Don Chouinard is completing his 34th year with MSAD27, a milestone that speaks volumes on its own. As Dean of Students at both Community High School and Valley Rivers Middle School, Don has dedicated his career to being a steady, caring presence in the lives of young people at some of the most formative and sometimes challenging moments of their school experience.

Leadership, honor, dedication, service. In Don's case, these aren't just words on an award plaque. They're a job description he has lived out, year after year, across three decades of service to this community.

As his colleagues who cast their votes clearly know that some things really do get better with age.

Thank You, Don!

On behalf of the entire MSAD27 community, including students, families, staff, and administration, congratulations, Don. Thank you for 34 years of heart, commitment, and service. This award belongs to you.
