How to Reduce the Risk of a Required Quarantine

As MSAD27 schools have increased numbers of students who are required to quarantine due to close contact with a positive COVID-19 individual, it's important to make everyone aware that there are several simple strategies that can be taken to help reduce the risk of a required quarantine:

1. Get Vaccinated: It's free.  It's approved.  It works.

If vaccination not for your child or your child is not old enough, that's ok! There's another measure that you can take!  See #2 below.

2. Pooled Testing:  Pooled testing is a simple once a week test to rule out COVID19.  To sign up your child for pooled testing, please CLICK HERE.

  • For FKES students, use the Access Code FKES21 when asked.

  • For CHS/VRMS students, use the Access Code 6P0Z6D when asked.

If you can't agree to pooled testing, there is one more thing you can do to avoid required quarantine:

3. Universal Masking and Social Distancing:
Although this isn't a clear-cut strategy as the previous two above, generally any individual who remains fully masked at school, and does not have physical contact or come within three feet of a COVID-19 infected individual, can usually avoid a required quarantine.

We hope that every family can agree to at least one of these strategies to keep students in schools.  Let's make our return to school after harvest break safe and quarantine free!
