MSAD27 Announces the next Principal of Fort Kent Elementary School

During the 940th board meeting of the Maine School Administrative District No. 27 Board of Directors on Monday, December 9, 2024, the board approved a transfer request from Mr. Kevin Anderson, Dean of Students at FKES, to become the next Principal of the schools, beginning December 23, 2024 after the resignation of Mr. Robby Nadeau who is moving to MSAD33

Kevin Anderson has been an educator in MSAD27 since 2007, teaching science at Valley Rivers middle school from 2007 - 2021.  He later went on to become the FKES Dean of Students in 2021, a position he's held since that time.  Mr. Anderson's vast education experience in both the classroom and as Dean of Students has prepared him well to take on the role of Principal.

According to Benjamin Sirois, Superintendent of Schools, "We are excited for the FKES community in welcoming Mr. Anderson in this new role.  Kevin's collaborative work with Mr. Nadeau has created a solid foundation to be successful in this new role, and I expect him to bring his own thoughts and ideas on school improvement."

Mr. Anderson's work with staff to become a Maine Positive Behavior and Supports (PBIS) school has demonstrated his shared leadership approach where the PBIS team has been able to have voice and choice in the process, ensuring that the work reflects a shared vision for behavior management at the school.

We wish Mr. Anderson the best of luck in this new role beginning with the 2025 calendar year!
