This potato harvest season started off as a wet one, and many of our local farmers are behind schedule. Because of this, there have been several requests from local farmers to allow for high school harvest workers to have some extra days to work on the farms. Valley Unified Schools have created a Harvest Break Extension Request form for harvest workers to complete, which will allow them up to 5 extra days of harvest work, which will be an accepted excuse from school. This is only available to students in grades 9-12, and must be completed fully to be accepted.
Harvest workers, farmers, or family members can pick up a Harvest Break Extension Request form at Fort Kent Community High School, the Superintendent's Office, or download the form by clicking on the image below.
