The State Board of Education met today for their monthly meeting. On the agenda was the Major capital School Construction Pilot for the Integrated, Consolidated 9-16 Educational Facility. This is the second time that the committee approves an proposed priority list after an appeal by Superintendent of Schools at MSAD46 was filed on March 12, forcing the Commissioner of Education to have the applications rescored in June.
The results of the revised priority list released today has our Valley Unified collaborative on top again, this time with higher scores than the first priority list! Because of the rules for school construction are still applied, each of the applicants on the list has 30 days to appeal the revised list. If there are no appeals, the Commissioner of Education will provide the State Board with his final list, which can be as early as July, but is more likely to be in August. At that time, we will begin the real work!
