This is a reminder to all the residents of the town of Wallagrass that the vote on school closure for Wallagrass Elementary school closure is tomorrow, Tuesday, December 20:
Referendum Vote for School Closure: This has
been set for Tuesday, December 20 at the Wallagrass Town Office from 10:00am - 6:00pm. (Again, this
is just for the residents of Wallagrass.)
When the voters of Wallagrass read the article which they
are voting on, the following will be stated:
Article 1: Do you favor authorizing the
School Board of Maine School Administrative District No. 27 to close Wallagrass
Elementary?
Yes:_____ No: _____
The additional cost of keeping the
school open has been estimated by the School Board of Maine School
Administrative District No. 27 to be $278,732.73”.
A Yes vote means that you will allow the MSAD27 board of directors to close the school at the end of this school year. All the students will attend Fort Kent Elementary School for the 2017-18 school year.
A No vote means that you do not allow MSAD27 to close the school and you would like the town of
Wallagrass will raise the additional funds to keep the school open and
operational. This would result in an estimated 7.7 additional MILS to the residents of Wallagrass.
