Community High School Mock Disaster

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, Community High School partnered with the Fort Kent Police Department, the Maine State Police Department, the Game Warden Service,  the Forestry Service, the Boarder Patrol Service, the Customs and Immigration Service,  Fort Kent Fire Department, Fort Kent EMT, and Daigle Funeral Home to create a Mock Disaster scenario for our students.

In this scenario, a vehicle full of CHS students have a fatal accident due to a driver who is under the influence.  Throughout the day, the students not only got to see how the emergency services respond to the accident scene, they also got to witness the reality of a tragic accident...right down to the funeral service that would result in the death of a classmate. Throughout the day the students were educated by a variety of guest speakers who all had something to share about the reality of making bad decisions.

MSAD27 thanks and commends all of the individuals who played an active role in the Mock Disaster scenario.  We are also very proud of our students who behaved in a mature and sophisticated way!  They were an absolute class act!
