2014-2015 NCLB Report Card

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was signed by President Obama on December 10, 2015, and represents good news for our nation’s schools.  Because this new act will take time to be fully implemented, the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) requirements still remain.  One of those requirements is that all states to provide an annual report card to inform stakeholders about the progress of students and schools on indicators of student achievement, attendance and graduation rates, status of ESEA accountability and information on “highly qualified” teachers – information that is related to student success.

As part of Maine’s current approved ESEA Flexibility waiver, Maine continues to provide this annual report card to the public.   For the first time however, the 2015-16 NCLB report will not be compared to the prior year.  This is because the data from 2013-2014 was based on a different assessment (NECAP) than the 2014-2015 data (SBAC).  For this reason, the 2o15-2016 NCLB Report Card will serve as a baseline and is for informational purposes only. It will have no impact on school accountability status.

The Maine Department of Education is currently working on a new accountability system will be established for school year 2016-17.

NCLB report cards are available here in the Maine DOE Data Warehouse.  The easiest way to find SAD27's information is to go to the Advanced Search Tab and search by district (MSAD27), school, and domain (NCLB Reports).
