FULL TIME POSITION

 

Middle/High School Dean of Students

 

Job Summary: Maine School Administrative District 27 (MSAD 27) in Fort Kent is searching for a dynamic, innovative, and cooperative individual for the Valley Rivers Middle School and Community High School Dean of Students position for the 2024-25 school year and beyond.  

 

The selected candidate must demonstrate a transformational leadership style that is aligned to the district strategic plan. The ideal candidate must support efforts towards proficiency-based learning, understand the importance of connecting with the community in the redesign of education, provide insight for creative student activities and project-based learning, while having knowledge of positive behavioral interventions and supports and restorative practices for student behavior management. District Information: MSAD 27 includes the communities of Wallagrass, New Canada, Fort Kent, St. John Plantation, and St. Francis.  The current enrollment in the district is 805. 

 

School Information:  Valley Rivers Middle School and Community High School are both in one building at 84 Pleasant Street in Fort Kent.  It comprises grades 7 -12 and currently has an enrollment of 348 students.

 

Qualification Requirements:  

  • Master’s Degree in Education, School Counseling or Educational Leadership

  • Certification Attainment: 045: Assistant Building Administrator, 075: School Counselor, or 040: Building Administrator (Preferred)

  • Successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference check

  • Additional Certifications are preferred

 

Start Date: July 1, 2024
