New Principal at Madawaska Elementary

July 8, 2022 - Madawaska, ME

As many of you are aware, Lise Pelletier has moved to the role of Director of Student Services starting on July 1, 2022.  This transfer created a vacancy for the Madawaska Elementary School Principal position.  Interviews were conducted the week of June 27 and the interview committee was unanimous in their recommendation of Christian Arnold of Perry Maine.

Christian comes to MES with a diverse background in elementary education, business ownership/management, curriculum development and administrative assistant roles, among others.  She earned her Masters in Education Leadership and Administration from Bethel College in Indiana in 2021, and conducted her administrative internship at Calais Middle/High School.  According to Christian, "I believe my past experiences in teaching have taught me about best practices and has allowed me to be on the front lines in education. My experiences in business leadership have taught me how to build and organize a well-run organization. My experiences in Administrative assistance and curriculum development have prepared me for the role of Administrator."

The interview committee was most impressed with how Christian presented herself with confidence during the interview process and felt that she had a great deal of understanding around the importance of educating the whole child, providing positive behavior interventions and supports, and connecting the community with the school.

Christian looks forward to relocating to the area and getting started at MES.  As the school year approaches, the MES families can expect more information to come from Ms. Arnold's office!
